Fees and Insurance

Our office accepts many PPO insurance plans that cover out-of-network acupuncture and we have a billing department to process all claims. Please have your insurance coverage verified prior to scheduling an appointment.  KAISER WILL NOT COVER OUR SERVICES unless you are a Kaiser medical provider.  Unfortunately we can’t accept Medicare nor any Medicare supplemental plans unless you worked for the public school system. Here is a list of popular insurance companies that we may be able to bill for office visits (it will depend on your specific policy):

• Aetna
• Cigna
• United HealthCare 
• Anthem Blue Cross PPO plans that start with GGS or MSJ only (if your plan starts with any other three letters we won’t be able to bill it directly but we can give you a superbill to submit and get reimbursed yourself).
• TriWest Healthcare Alliance/Veterans’ Affairs
• PacifiCare
• Guardian
• Great West
• Harrington Health
• Humana
• Some Personal Injury Claims (car accidents)
• Some Worker’s Compensation Claims (injury on the job)

As of September, 2024 we are no longer accepting Blue Shield plans (so sorry!). 

There are more insurance companies we may be able to bill, but those listed above are the most common.  If you are unsure which plan you have, please contact us.  Plans must have out-of-network acupuncture benefits/coverage on them. 

We are in-network with TriWest Healthcare but an out-of-network provider for all other plans. 

If you have insurance, please submit your insurance information here to have your benefits verified.  Or you may call us directly and provide your information over the phone.  When you call please be prepared to give your full name, date of birth, the name of your insurance plan and the member ID number on your insurance card.  We will get back to you in 1-2 business days with your coverage information.

Acupuncture is a fully-approved medical expense under Health Savings Accounts and Flex-Spending Accounts (thus you can use your HSA/FSA card to pay for treatments).
